The "Bridge" for ing Fishing Tackle
One end of the fishing line is ed to the fishhook (or other bait devices), and the other end is ed to accessories such as the fishing rod, float, and sinker, forming a complete fishing system.
Example: In Taiwanese fishing, the fishing line needs to pass through the rod guides in sequence, to the swivel, sub-line, and fishhook, and at the same time, be paired with a float and a lead sheet seat to achieve the assembly of the fishing rig.
The Medium for Force Transmission
When a fish takes the bait, the fishing line can transmit the fish's pulling force to the fishing rod and the angler's hand, helping the angler perceive the fish bite (such as the float sinking or the fishing rod bending).
Conversely, the force of the angler lifting the rod and controlling the fish is also transmitted to the fishhook through the fishing line, ensuring that the fish is hooked and its swimming direction can be controlled.
II. Core Functions: Controlling and Playing Fish
Buffering and Releasing Force
The fishing line itself has a certain degree of elasticity (especially nylon lines), which can buffer the impact force when the fish suddenly struggles, preventing the fishhook from being shaken or the fishing rod from breaking.
